Shahid's Summer Gala

September saw Shahid host the first of what is set to become an annual Summer Gala in Crow Nest Park. More than 300 guests - ordinary members of the public who've asked for Shahid's help over the past eighteen months - lapped up the sunshine and buffet. More than £400 was raised for two worthy causes - Dewsbury Diabetes Appeal and Dewsbury Celtic RLFC. Iris Betney of Dewsbury Pensioners Association helped to sell raffle tickets at the gala: “Shahid obviously cares very much for this community and I’d like to thank him for taking the time to organise this lovely event and invite so many people. It makes a real change to see an MP work as hard as Shahid does for this area.”

Dewsbury By The Sea

Dewsbury Town Centre Management did a great job organising another successful 'Dewsbury By The Sea' event. Shahid was on hand to give away postcards and sticks of Dewsbury rock to the thousands of people who had flocked to thhe town centre. Getting into the swing of things Shahid even found himself taking part in a Punch & Judy show with Steve and Lisa from The Pulse breakfast show. a great day was had by all.

Dewsbury Gala

The annual Dewsbury Gala once again proved to be a popular event at Crow Nest Park with plenty to do for everyone. Shahid spent the afternoon browsing the stalls and chatting to those that had come along for the fun.
